The star has given the full amount of his £25,000 honor winnings to the trust for venues, which works to protect the United Kingdom's small music venues.
The star was given the prize on October 16 as his third album the album was chosen as the outstanding release of the past year.
Fender has chosen to hand the money over to the MVT, in acknowledgment of the essential function grassroots venues played in his beginning days.
"I would not have achieved my current career if it weren't for all the performances I performed around the area, and beyond, when I was starting out," remarked the artist. "These locations are legendary, but they are facing challenges."
Beginning in 2023, at least 150 of these spaces have permanently closed – roughly one-sixth of the entire UK sector.
Recently, well-known musicians including Pulp, the group Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Sheeran have all aided the MVT in its efforts to support the industry, by applying a small levy to their ticket prices, which goes to help independent venues.
Fender also participated, collecting more than £100,000 on his live tour to support 38 local spots across the UK.
These funds assisted spaces that were dealing with imminent closure due to difficulties arising from flooding, fire incidents and bereavements, as well as regulatory hurdles, conflicts and sound issues.
Additional spaces were granted financial assistance in modernizing amenities and gear that directly benefitted musicians and concertgoers.
"The notion that money from performances in large arenas backs the smaller venues, where it all starts for artists like me, is just common sense," Sam Fender has stated.
